We are athletes just like you. After years of running, biking, and swimming and struggling with the need to get a good night’s sleep before the day of a big event, we began to develop the Performance Sleep System. We tried various sleep aids based on white noise, music, and sounds of nature, but could never really find one that worked. And the last thing we were going to do was to take a perscription or over-the-counter sleep aid the night of a race.
How Does Lack of Sleep Affect Athletic Performance?
A good night’s sleep is critical to a strong athletic performance. Studies show that sleep deprivation can cause:
* Impaired motor function * Reduced cardiovascular performance * Diminished mental functioning * Reduced endurance * Increased perceived exertion
From our own experience, we know this is true.
How has PSS helped Us?
From the start, we created PSS to help our own athletic performance. By integrating PSS into our pre-race ritual, we’ve experienced a dramatic reduction in the typical “tossing and turning” in bed the night before an event. It’s like having a sleep coach guide you into a deep, restful state. |
